UniDrop (AWLS)
Automated Waste and Linen System (AWLS)
Hospitals are increasingly demanding improved hygiene and efficiency. The UniDrop automatic vacuum transfer system for waste and linen transports waste and dirty linen from the wards to the laundry or waste collection point in seconds - hygienically, noiselessly and odorlessly.
Centralized waste and laundry collection is carried out throughout the hospital via completely enclosed pipes. This improves hygiene conditions, as waste collection and laundry are carried out quickly and with almost no external contamination. Manual transport throughout the building is eliminated, which increases logistical efficiency.
System functionality
When the smart sensor in the storage area is activated, the variable frequency drive fans in the engine room are automatically set in motion. Once enough waste bags or dirty linen have accumulated in the wells, the system, by creating a vacuum in the pipes, draws the dirty items at speeds of 70-100 km/h into the waste containers or linen dispensing units in the central collection station.
From the collection station, a truck transports the waste containers to the waste disposal facility, while the unloaded laundry bags are transported to the laundry. The used air is exhausted through ducts after filtering out dust and odors. All waste bags remain completely sealed to ensure that the dirty items do not come into contact with the outside world, thus minimizing contamination in the hospital.
